BETTER LATE THAN NEVER
October 16, 2006 : LAST S#*T OF THE DAY
Yehey! My first working day without law school pressure went well. I went out of the office around 7pm. I thought it would end the way I want it. But Nada!
After 45 minutes of waiting at the MCS FX Terminal en route to Nagtahan…I was saddened by the announcement of the barker that the van is not leaving. (talaga naman! Matapos akong paghintayin ng matagal sa kadahilanang hindi napuno ang napakahabang van kailangan kong bumaba kasama ng 3 pang pasahero na alam kong bad trip din!)
Pumara ng Taxi (plate number XNL 265 ng MGE Taxi Services)
Taxi driver: San po kayo?
Daye: Sta. Mesa po. VMapa.
Taxi Driver: Plus thirty po sa metro.
Daye: Bakit po?
Taxi driver: Matraffic po kasi.
Daye: (cge na nga pakagenerous na ako makauwi lang) Sige manong plus 30 pag traffic.
Taxi Driver: So payag ka na plus 30?
Daye: Oo nga po pagtraffic…
Taxi driver: Eh hanap na lang ho kayo ng iba. Papunta ho kc ako ng Pasay, dun ho biyahe ko.
Daye: Bakit ho may ruta (route) naba ang taxi ngayon?
Taxi driver: Maghanap na lang ho kayo ng iba.
Daye: Manong baka gusto nyo mawalan ng franchise (prankisa)? Diba po bawal mamili ng pasahero?
Taxi Driver: Maam di naman po. Malayo po kc mauubusan na po ako ng gasoline.
Daye: Manong, dyan sa kanto ng Chino Roses may gasolinahan.
Taxi driver: Di kc ko pwede jan LPG ang gas ko.
Daye: Ganon po? Eh bakit po pag plus 30 pwede kayo makaabot ng Sta Mesa. (sarcastic na ako)
Taxi driver: (Started to move, Ng-on ng AM radio to the maximum level ang volume)
Daye: Manong pakihinaan naman po. Im not interested sa sounds nyo, para makatipid kayo sa gas at battery pakipatay na lang ho.
Taxi driver: (Driving recklessly)
Daye: (Lord, baka kung ano gawin sa akin ng mamang toh… Nagtext sa dad ng plate number, ngsave sa phone ng customer service number ng MGE, bad trip habang kung ano-ano ang naiisip)
Taxi driver: Mam kaliwa?
Daye: Opo. Pakibaba na lang ako sa Reposo.
Taxi driver: 120 po plus 30 (actual meter bill: 107)
Daye: Gave payment 100 peso bill, 5 peso coin, at 8 tig 25 cents.
Taxi driver: (nagkamot ng ulo.)
I just hope he learned his lesson. I could give him as much as 150 sana talaga kung di lang ako nabadtrip sa kanya. Grrr! Now I partially agree with Ms. Jessica Zafra. (re: security guards and taxi drivers and assholes…)
October 15, 2006 – LOLA BUSHA (and dealing with her alzheimer’s disease)
Visited my Lola Amanda after 1 month or more of not being able to… She looked thinner and pale. But I saw the stars in her eyes when she recognized me.
Lola: (crying) Ihanda mo gamit ko. Sasama ko say o. Umuwi na tayo sa atin.
Daye: Lola bahay na natin toh…Saka paluwas napo ako may pasok sa work.
Lola: Hindi natin to bahay. Dun tayo sa Burol sa bukid. (referring to our ancestral house way back early 80’s)
Daye: Sige po lola ganito na lang pagkagaling ko sa trabaho dadaanan kita ha?
Lola: Baka maghintay ako di ka na bumalik?
Daye: Promise po.
Lola: Kailan uuwi si Sonia? (referring to my aunt in the States)
Daye: Sa Christmas. (four years had passed and I still have the same answer)
Lola: Matagal pa yun.
Daye: Lapit nay un lola, 2 months na lang po.
October 14, 2006 – Princess Alika’s Fantasy 7th Birthday Party
I am late. Wasn’t able to attend the program. Ate Enna told me I am included in the list for the 7 FairyGodmother’s wishes..
Have met several relatives whom I haven’t seen for quite some time (Christmas 2005 was the last time yata).
The party was glamorous, I was thinking that I never celebrated my 7th birthday that way. Long time ago, I was contented with “basagang palayok” and “pabitin” plus the cake especially baked by Tita Sonia.
I attended 3 kiddie party in a month…that of Owie, The Wondertwins ten-ten and fen-fen and that of Aika. Ang tanda ko na talaga….
October 13, 2006 – LEGAL ETHICS
WAAAAAAAA! First time ako nagexam ng hindi nagaral overnyt…. Studied last two hours before the exam..
Classmate: Delayed daw tayo ng 2 hours before magexam. Natraffic yata si Judge Agui.
Daye: Prolonging the agony….
The exam was fair. I think I was able to answer rightly naman… (Sana!)
October 12, 2006 – REMEDIAL LAW REVIEW
2:00 AM
Daye: Aei, antok na ako..tulog muna ko.. 1 hour lang promise…
3:00 AM CLOCK ALARMS… Riiiiinnnnnngggggggg!
Daye: Snooze key… Doze off… zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
4:00 AM
Daye: Aral ulit…. (OMG! Im feeling something funny and yucky inside my stomach…tension triggered LBM)
6:00 AM
Daye: (takes a bath, ironed clothes, went to the CR for the 6th time…)
6:30 AM
Daye: I can’t go to the office with my LBM still in momentum. (thought of texting our chief of staff)
Asec, pasensya na po I can’t go to OSG. Di ko pa po tapos coverage ng exam.NagLBM pa po ako sa sobrang tension. Sorry po. (NO REPLY)
Nysa, dipo ako makapasok di pa ko tapos magbasa eh..Pucha! ngLBM pa ko. Bahala ka na sa magdispatch ng mga due cases. Thanks. (NO REPLY)

Daye: Wala pang reply. (texted another boss in command)
Dir. Jof, (same explanation) , nagtext nap o ako kay asec. Sensya napo.
8:00 AM LBM is still a worst case scenario.Beep….
Asec: Ok. Galingan mo!
Daye: Sigh! (of relief), thought of self-medicating with Coke and Cornstarch. (its 100% effective learned it from mom)
10:00 AM Went to the library. Read.Read.Read.
EXAM HOUR…….. Waaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Fair naman exam, bad trip lang yung “statute of non-claims” nakalimutan ko yung period.

Daye: Sobrang haba. Parang naparalyze na yung hands ko… Huhuhu…..
Sana OK din yung result para sulit yung ink ng signpen ko…

Daye: Arrived early in school. Attempted reading. Ayaw na talaga pumasok sa utak, kung pwede lang kainin ko yung green book habang iniisip na lettuce yun para pumasok lang sa katawan ko…Waaaaaa!
