In defense of SolGen Nachura

I don't think a lawyers capability and capacity should be estimated by the number of victories he had in court. It is measured on how a counsel argued excellently his case and the nature of cases he represented in court.

I am disappointed/angered by how Rep. Suplico commented with a very boastful remark:

"MalacaƱan has already lost five cases, with no wins, at the High Court, after Nachura took over as the government's top counsel"

Honorable Solon, Did you know?

* Solicitor General Antonio Eduardo B. Nachura is one of the most respected lawyer in the law profession both in practice and in the academe.

* Have you ever argued in the Supreme Court and won a case which is totally against the current of the waters or a case which is definitely construed as one which will shape the nation's future? If so, then I might accept your credibility to judge SolGen Nachura.

* I respect your right to freely express your opinion about the 5 cases the OSG lost in the High Court but it is a foul to blame it all to the SolGen after this man have defended the case zealously in court and within the bounds of the law.

*A lawyer's performance in the courtroom is responsible for about 25 percent of the outcome; the remaining 75 percent depends on the facts. -Melvin Belli

I don't think Lawyers must make nasty remarks against a co-league in the profession. Is it a blatant acceptance that a lawyer who does so is in a way insecure?

SolGen Nachura does't mind and that's what I expect from a low-profile man.

And I and many individuals who have witnessed his excellent performance in all his legal endeavors will DISAGREE and WILL MIND what you have said.
