Sickly Daye

I noticed, I've been so sickly since July of last year.

I don't know if it is because of my lifestyle? No exercise. No healthy diet. No gimik. Less sleep. No love life (at least while he's away). Stressful work. Difficult students (oooopppss!!! only some of them), et. al.

This time, I should blame the anti-flu vaccine as part of our health services in the office!
How ironic? I got flu immediately a day after the vaccine.

And the flu impedes me from attending to some lawful engagements like work, teaching and Sunday mass plus I wasn't able to fulfill my 'NO ABSENT MONTH OF AUGUST' plan (bad trip! that I have to be absent on the last work day of August!).

Hmmmm.. I need to catch up. Three days spent at the banig ng karamdaman gave me a long list of things to accomplish this week: One case, Moot Court Orientation, Exam Booklets, KALIPI Congress, Bar Ops, necessary incidents.

I hate being sickly. Gotta improve my health condition.

Please don't raise some eyebrows, I am not planning to change my lifestyle.

I am taking a vitamin supplement. ;)

Do you think it's true?

Hey, I need friends who will confirm or will disagree... Please comment.
What Claudette Castro Tolentino Means

You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily.
You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind.
A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable.
You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow.

You are light hearted and accepting. You don't get worked up easily.
Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is.
You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are a very lucky person. Things just always seem to go your way.
And because you're so lucky, you don't really have a lot of worries. You just hope for the best in life.
You're sometimes a little guilty of being greedy. Spread your luck around a little to people who need it.
You are balanced, orderly, and organized. You like your ducks in a row.
You are powerful and competent, especially in the workplace.

People can see you as stubborn and headstrong. You definitely have a dominant personality.
You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.

At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.
You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life.
You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home.
You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble.

You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong.
You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know.
You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do.
You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.

You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You are well rounded, with a complete perspective on life.
You are solid and dependable. You are loyal, and people can count on you.
At times, you can be a bit too serious. You tend to put too much pressure on yourself.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.
You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.
You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

Daye on Blushing

The Boss approached me.

I am nervous, he might brought up Plan C and I still have no definite answer.

The Boss: Daye, what's my SC official email address?

DQ: Sir, you don't have one.

The Boss: Ganon? Somebody has to send me an email, can you write down instead your email address and retrieve the mail for me?

DQ: (Lunok!) writes down. (think).

The Boss is waiting.

DQ: (think again)... Nysagurl, what's your email. (but Nysa is on the phone!!!!help!!!!)

The Boss is waiting.

DQ: (handed the post it) CONTENT: Sir, prettydaye@yahoo.com :D (blushing)

The Boss gave a good laugh. I smiled blushing.

Lesson?
If you are a professional, create an official email address that is likewise professional.

Am still blushing while I'm blogging.

Long Weekend

Long weekend...such a happy thought.

Though this weekend is supposed to be long for leisure or rest, (as PGMA's concept of weekend economics/tourism platform) I have long list of TO DO's.

1. Correct test papers. Hmmm, have checked a minimal number..I'm not satisfied. :(

2. Clean my apartment. I realized I can't do it on weekdays. Wow! I have 36 pairs of shoes but I often use only 4 or 5 of them.. I think I regained my weight before I reviewed for the bar, my old clothes now fits me. How do I dispose of my bar materials if I am being sentimental? Geeeee!!! I found my favorite purple shoe lace. Thanks Nysa for keeping me company.

3. Visit Mommy Bel and Raj. I think Raj gained weight and Mommy is starting to lose weight. I can't wait for Raj's first month party.

4. Bring flowers to Lolo's grave for his birthday. I miss him and his songs.

5. Study my "raffle". Hopefully.

6. Watch Cinderella the Making, Part 2 - Kapamilya Network. Sunday. 10 PM.

7. Go shopping. SM Centerpoint is on sale!!! Wishing I am "mucho" but I'm not, I have to prioritize my payables.

8. Do the laundry, it means I can save some bucks from my regular laundy services. Again, hopefully.

9. Update my friendster, multiply, blogger, et.al.

10. Wish and pray that by tuesday I am geared for court work.

Next week is another long weekend...Happy thought!!!!!!!! :D

Raffle

I don't know if it is about the three (3) bottles of beer last night or just that TODAY'S WORK was really a pain in the ass.

It could have been happier if the "raffle" we have in the office means a brand new car or a house and lot... BUT NO! it means a bundle of work, paper dusts and stressful deadlines and quotas.

I am no longer happy.

2008 Bar Examinations

In a month, there will be a rush of lawyer-wannabes leading to La Salle to hurdle the bar examinations.

I am sure all of them will feel like they know nothing about the law when they enter the gates of the war room. I should know, I've been there last year. It is ironic that I cannot remember the definition of "gerrymandering" that 5:30 a.m of September 2, 2007 when in fact, I have been teaching Philippine Constitution for four years while I was busy preparing myself for the bar exam. I entered the gates with crossed-fingers wishing that question would not be asked and praying hard that if I will fail the bar it would not be in Political Law lest I will forever lose my credibility in teaching, second that would insult the Boss.

I am sure all of them will feel a certain imbalance in their physical being. In my case it is an imminent vomiting in seeing other bar candidates, diarrhea or hyperacidity, I don't know what it is actually that I took both a dose of Loperamide and Antacid not knowing that it has an extreme effect to my digestion on the following days. Nervous breakdown?.... hmmm I attributed the fact from so much coffee and organic black chocolates with a coffee bean inside it. Sleepy eyes yet bothered mind and a pounding heart.

I am sure they will receive the biggest surprise in their lives. Question No. 1 in Labor was my biggest surprise, that "What is the principle of co-determination?" question which made me think for at least ten minutes only to realize I have not encountered the word in my lifetime. Caution: when the bar examinees encounters the surprise, maintain your composure and read the follow-up question it might give you a hint.

I am sure after the first sunday half of them will be thinking of not going back for the next sundays but only a meager 1% will decide that way and 49% will think that "kasubuan na ito!". So, on the first Monday after the exam I thought of not studying and instead watch Boy and Kris and Game k n b? but after lunch my mom keeps on nagging me to study Civ and Tax.

I am sure that on second sunday they will be bothered by the way they answered Tax. General rule, not all are good in tax. Exception: CPA's. I belong to the general rule and although Tax is my favorite (Owwwwwssss? convincing myself...), I find my answers will ONLY get a perfect mark if correction is based on penmanship.

I am sure after the second and third sundays, many of them is already planning an alternative career. Singing? Showbusiness? Politics? to being a full-time housewife/band. Hahaha!

I am sure that on the fourth sunday, all of them is thinking of JUST how to finish the exam and how they will spend the days after Remedial and Legal Ethics. At 3PM, when they overhear the drums, cheers and popping bottles of champagne or beers outside La Salle, the officially burdening waiting period will start and the impatience and obsession of the bar results will kill their hopes.

I am sure that the morning after the last Sunday they will wake up with a boggling question in mind : "What now?"

To the 2008 Bar Examinees, All the best and good luck to the most hard to forget and hard to repeat (NO!NO!NO!NO!) EX(am)PERIENCE in life!

Mileth, Cor, Pao, Kuya Rodney, Dale, Mama Gene, GT's and 4C Classmates, I am looking forward to meeting you in the legal profession and in the ministry of the law. See you in court!

Daye on Aging

So before I actually settled with pursuing Plan B, I am really serious of 'staying' with Plan A if only the circumstances would warrant. Though, it may take a little of my pride, I will take it as a payback.

It took me three weeks waiting for the sign and suddenly it came like a rushing lightning that hits me unprepared.

It's already past midnight. I can't sleep.

Just as I about to tell the Boss of Plan B on Friday, he already confronted me... ON THE SPOT!

So when he asked me: "What's your plan?"

I am caught offguarded, in my teary-eyed I answered: "I'm still checking options, sir."

He looked at me in blank, I guess he's looking for an apparent sign of what is running in my mind.

He is intelligent. A seasoned lawyer. A great cross examiner.

He was able to get a confession from me. I admitted my Plan B, in the most polite manner I can.

He told me: I have Plan C (told me the details), think about it.

Now, I can't sleep thinking of the gameplan.

Hayhay. Can't sleep. Thinking too much of the future. Sign of Aging.
